Dear High School:
I do not miss you.
I do not miss your lack of freedom. I do not miss your angst. I do not miss the falsity of your super fake friendships. I do not miss your bitter sweetness of teenage crushes nor the loneliness of your lunch periods. I do not miss your awkward bowling nights, your terrible proms, or your promiscuous girls that made me feel like I was doing it all wrong. I do not miss you, High School. I’d never have you back.
Though I do miss the way you made me feel like anything was possible. Like the night could bring me anywhere. Like Adventure was always waiting. Just for me.
I trusted you, High School, to teach me what Life is. But all you did was narrow it down to the simple fact that Adolescence is not Life.
